About Me

img_2780Welcome! Thank you for taking the time to stop by. I’m looking forward to sharing my writing journey with you. I’m new to the world of fiction writing, and I’m ever learning, so I hope you’ll check back often to see where I’m at in the journey.

A little about me: I live in a small town in the Texas Piney Woods on almost five acres. I enjoy growing herbs, beekeeping, reading, and love to write. I may have an addiction to Netflix–my escape from the daily grind. I’m a working gal, wife to one good man, mom to three fine sons, mother in law to two lovely girls, and a Christian learning to walk in the grace, mercy, and faithfulness of a holy God. I’m mom to Max the small dog and to Bones, the overly large, rescue puppy. To some, I am Mrs. Blanchard, and to others, the Blanchard boys’ mom. And now, I’m also an aspiring author.

I have a lot to learn about writing, and I’m learning through reading and a writer’s guild. There are many excellent books on craft, and it’s encouraging to find that the craft of writing can be learned. I’ve recently finished the first novel. My genre is Women’s Christian Fiction, and my hope is to not only entertain through writing, but also to encourage and inspire.

Please feel free to comment, ask questions, share your experiences in writing and reading, and join with me in believing that at any time in life, dreams can still come true.

God Bless!

  1. Hullo Ruth. I’ve just sent a critique to the ACFW critique group of the first chapter of your book. Lucky you to have gone to the writers’ conference in Dallas and to meet agents and other writers etc. I’m in Australia and it’s rather out of the question for me. Your home in Texas sounds great. I bet y’all have a gorgeous Texas accent!
I’ve had one novel published recently – a great thrill for me.

    God bless,

    1. Thank you! I’ve read your critique. I truly appreciate your kind words, the feedback, and your comment here. I’m so grateful to God for allowing me the time and resources to be at conference. That is a story in itself, but I’ll save it for another time. Australia! Wow! I’m feeling quite small right now. I’ve always wanted to travel, and Australia is on my dream visit list- maybe one day. Texas is home, and I’m one of those proud to be a Texan types, but when I have the chance to see other places, I’m ready to go!
Thank you for taking the time to stop by my blog. God bless!
